Iwo Jima Monument, Inc. needs members and help!

On 9/11/2002, the Monument was removed from the DOT right-of-way, saving it from being destroyed during highway reconstruction.  After several years of storage and due to the dedication of a few concerned individuals, it is presently (temporarily) displayed at Fantasy of Flight.  Any monies received so far for the preservation of this monument have been used for restoration of the actual monument and for the expense of flags, lighting, and placement at its present location. 

The cost of permanent relocation of the monument will be determined once the application is received by the Florida Department of Transportation.
In order to place this monument on permanent public display along I-4, Iwo Jima Monument, Inc. is offering both Associate and Life Associate memberships to raise the necessary funds. 

Associate memberships , which are currently good through February 23, 2007, require a donation of $25.00.  This will raise $1,000 for each 40 members joining. 

Life Associate memberships are $500.00.  A $500 Memoriam membership is also offered to friends and relatives to remember a loved one.
